About Us

Having first opened our doors in South Corvallis in 2002 as Yoga College of India, Heart of the Valley Yoga is one of the oldest yoga studios in town. Over the last 2 decades our name and location have changed as we have evolved. We continue to bring the “26 & 2” of “Bikram yoga” to the community. 

This entry-level series is designed for beginners, yet is hard-working enough to challenge even experienced practitioners.  Our classes build strength, flexibility and balance in the body but the practice of yoga also strengthens the powers of the mind: patience, concentration, willpower, determination and faith.  Many people have greatly benefitted physically, mentally, and spiritually from the teachings at our school. 

Our teachers have been trained with specific instruction on precise alignment.  With an eye for details, we make safety a priority.  We teach with compassion as we bring forth this physically balancing and harmonizing class.

Connection

Yoga connects a person to their “True Self”  This powerful series has taught us to understand the importance of connection to the heart and to non-ordinary/spiritual/higher aspects of awareness.   The wisdom contained in the “26 & 2”  has always been the foundation of our business and our teaching.  The facilitation of a supportive environment is an important cornerstone of our approach.  

Community, friendship and laughter have come to be a part of our everyday classes and we welcome new members as well as those who have been here since our inception.
